Decibel Magazine is currently premiering the first two tracks from the upcoming split album by underground Death Metal acts NOROTH (USA) and MÖRTUAL (Costa Rica). Arriving October 30th, 2026, the collaborative release will be available on 12” vinyl via Night Terrors Records, and on CD and cassette via Goat Throne Records, featuring striking artwork by the unholy Paolo Girardi alongside pulverizing mastering by Dan Lowndes. The premiere includes a brand new music video for the Noroth track, “Tongue ov Soot and Ash”. Pre-orders for the 12” edition are now live through the Night Terrors Records website HERE.
NOROTH comments on the new track, with bassist/vocalist Biaggo explaining the concept: “Tongue ov Soot and Ash continues the dark thread that runs through all of our music: a hellish prophetic allegory as a lens to confront the trajectory of humanity. The song imagines a collective future that has been reduced to ash beneath systems and institutions that exist only to consume without end, feeding on the ruins they create.” Guitarist Mike adds “Musically I wanted to conjure something as bleak and violent as possible. Aggressive and dark riffs that give you the sonic excess of a miserable existence”.
