Across six tracks, ‘Rotting Antefix’ sees DEFENESTRATION delve deeper into their blend of ancient atmosphere and old-school death metal. Driven by cavernous riffing, haunting lead work, and murky low-end, the EP delivers a focused and unrelenting journey through forgotten worlds and decaying monuments.

Drawing inspiration from ancient temple carvings encountered during a trip to Greece, guitarist and vocalist Ben Neufeld infused ‘Rotting Antefix’ with themes of religious symbolism, forgotten histories, and unseen forces lingering beneath the surface of civilisation, alongside darker concepts of irreversible corruption, condemnation, and eternal purgatory.
